I hate it. I started losing my hair at 23 and was pretty thin on top at 25. I'm now 51 so have been bald half my life. A strange aspect of this condition is that I forget about it - until I see a mirror, a photo - or my shadow! I keep thinking I've still got the hair I had when I was 20 - thick and curly, more or less ringlets.
A lot of people judge others by their hair; the style, length, amount of gray etc. I've never used hair products - for the last > 20 years I haven't even used shampoo.
Then again, I have and have had wonderful friends and especially girlfriends who have never made a thing of it. Most don't mention it unless I do.
When Regaine first appeared on the market I bought some, but the side effects were so worrying (dizziness and headaches through to losing consciousness) that I never tried it.
I still have dreams where I realise it's grown back... but then I wake up.
One thing: if you are bald, avoid the comb-over! You lose the bald look but a lot of respect goes with it!19732003
